Whakamāramatanga
Our name, Te Tira Ahurea Tākaro ō Te Piringa, representing all our sporting and cultural endeavours.
Our logo, a reflection of who we are as Te Piringa—a place of unity, strength, and belonging. Our wharenui symbolises the safe space we create as a team, where we come together as whānau, to support each other, and to stand strong.
The amo of our wharenui woven with tohu of our Pasifika whānau representing the whakapapa of our players who take pride in their heritage and the shared histories that connect us. Our Pasifika manu on the left of our tohu represent our 3 core values, while the 3 on the right honour our people, Tāngata Whenua, Tāngata Pasifika, and Tāngata Tiriti. As birds migrate and navigate vast oceans with purpose, we, too, move forward together with determination and pride.
Our colours, perfectly aligned with our core values, represent us and what we strive for. Black, gold and silver represent wealth in their own right. For us, wealth in whānau, wealth in hauora, wealth in kotahitanga, manaakitanga, and whanaungatanga. Much like the whare tapawhā, they collectively represent and support holistic well-being. Individually, they carry their own mana also...
BLACK - whenua, people, strength
Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini!
GOLD - abundance, success, achievement, generosity
Nā tō rourou, nā tōku rourou, ka ora ai te iwi!
SILVER - innovation, balance, harmony
Mā te kotahitanga e whai kaha ai tātou!
The minds, the hands, the creators behind the vision
Inspired by a wharenui, a safe place to gather, symbolism of interlocking hands, depicting the whare and strength in unity
